Behind The English Reading Society

Books give us something worth saying.

TERS is where a shared story becomes a reason to read consistently, speak more naturally and connect with people who are curious too.

A note from the founder

Hi, I’m Ludmila — the reader behind TERS.

English has been part of my life through international examinations, studying abroad and years of using the language in academic and professional settings.

I completed secondary school in Uruguay and spent four years studying in the United States. My academic path includes Cambridge First (FCE) and Advanced (CAE), TOEFL, SAT, and IGCSE examinations in English Literature and other subjects.

After returning to Argentina, I completed a technical degree in programming. Today, alongside my other professional work, I teach English to teenagers and adults at a private institute.

I created TERS because I love reading, talking about books and discovering how differently people can understand the same story. For me, that makes a reading society a powerful way to improve English as a whole — comprehension, vocabulary, speaking confidence and the ability to express more complex ideas.

The TERS philosophy

Structured enough to guide you.
Human enough to feel like you.

Read

Understand more than the plot.

Notice language in context, follow a realistic plan and arrive with ideas already forming.

Speak

Turn your ideas into a voice.

Use English to wonder, disagree, laugh and share an interpretation that is genuinely yours.

Connect

See the story through others.

Different perspectives make the book richer and every conversation more memorable.

Is TERS for you?

You do not need perfect English. You need curiosity.

TERS is not an exam and it is not a traditional class. You need enough English to follow a conversation and a willingness to take part — mistakes included.

Online & in person

The format changes.
The spirit does not.

Choose the room that fits your life. Every TERS meeting is live, guided and built for meaningful participation.
